BLUE WAVES 52, EAGLES 6

After dropping their first game of the season last week, Riverhead bounced back with a dominant 52-6 victory over winless Copiague Saturday afternoon at Coach Mike McKillop Memorial Field.

The Blue Waves improved to 6-1 going into the regular season finale next week against at home against Newfield (3-3).

The 52 points was a season-high for Riverhead this season. The previous high was 47 against Half Hollow Hills East.

Riverheadled 33-6 at halftime against Copiague and never looked back in the second half. Riverhead receiver Quinn Funn hauled in three touchdown passes from quarterback Ryan Bitzer. Jeremiah Cheatom rushed for two touchdowns and Charles Bartlett had one score. Cheatom added seven tackles on defense.
