Royal flush scheduled for downtown Riverhead
Riverhead Town officials will gather Tuesday afternoon for the grand reopening of a long shuttered downtown public restroom.
A ceremonial “first flush” will take place at noon on West Main Street near the corner of Griffin Avenue.
“With so many people coming to Riverhead and our downtown coming to life with events, concerts, new restaurants, a thriving Aquarium and a new hotel, finding a restroom when nature calls just got a little bit easier,” Mr. Walter said in a press release.
The comfort station will be opened daily during the warmer months and during town events. It will remain closed at dusk to prevent criminal activity or vandalism, officials said.
