Longtime Aquebogue resident Robert Antone Chituk died Oct. 26 at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead, following a long illness. He was 51.
Born Aug. 6, 1960, in Riverhead to Antone and Delores (Polak) Chituk, he graduated from Mattituck High School in 1979 and married Maureen Carr on Aug. 14, 1983, in Cutchogue.
Mr. Chituk had his own water treatment business and also worked in sales at Riverhead Building Supply in Riverhead.
Family members said he enjoyed boating, fishing and working around the house and loved to watch NASCAR, golf, football and tennis on television.
He is survived by his wife and his son, Robert Jr., both of Aquebogue; his parents, of Riverhead; his sisters, Lori Underwood of Aquebogue and Lyn Chituk of Riverhead; and a niece and nephew.
Visiting hours took place Oct. 30 at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue. Cremation was private.
