Man shot on West Main Street in Riverhead; shooter still at large
A man was shot in the arm in downtown Riverhead Friday night, and cops are still searching for the shooter, authorities said.
The shooting occurred about 9:50 p.m. on West Main Street, police said, right outside a small shopping center that houses a laundromat, barber shop and Latino delicatessen.
The victim, whose name was not released, was treated at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. The shooter, described by police as an Hispanic male who was wearing a red shirt, fled on foot.
No one interviewed by a reporter at the shopping center Saturday morning knew anything about the shooting.
