Minnie Langhorne

Minnie Langhorne of Riverhead died Sept. 25 at the age of 85.

She was born June 26, 1926, in Cumberland, Va., to John Webster and Cora (Motley) Trent and was educated in the Cedar Forks School District in Cumberland County, Va. She moved to Riverhead in the early 1940s and married John Henry Langhorne on May 1, 1943.

Ms. Langhorne did domestic work for most of her life and, in her spare time, enjoyed taking care of her yard, according to family members.

Predeceased by her husband, she is survived by her sons, John, of Richmond, Va., and Robert, of Riverhead; her brother, Porter Trent, and her sister, Josephine Booker, both of Riverhead; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Viewing and a service took place Sept. 29 at Seay Memorial Chapel in Riverhead, the Elder Henry Burwell eulogizing. Interment was at Calverton National Cemetery.
