Darlene E. Kruk

Lifelong Flanders resident Darlene E. Kruk died Nov. 14 at Peconic Bay Medical Center Skilled Nursing Facility in Riverhead. She was 50.

She was born in Greenport July 28, 1961, to Antone and Helen Kruk and attended Riverhead High School.

Ms. Kruk married Michael Grabas in June 2000. She was a cook at Little Joe’s Restaurant in Aquebogue and, according to family members, she loved animals.

Predeceased by her parents and her brother, Antone Jr., Ms. Kruk is survived by her husband, of Flanders; her sisters, Linda Melin and Donna Enroth, both of North Carolina, and Doreen King of California; her stepmother, Marion, of North Carolina; two stepsons, Jimmy and Michael Grabas; and two grandchildren.

Visiting hours will take place Thursday, Nov. 17, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead, where funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 18, at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Coram.
