Slide Show: Riverhead’s seniors give thanks
The Riverhead Town senior center’s kitchen staff prepared its annual Thanksgiving dinner spread for 120 seniors at the Aquebogue facility today.
Head cook Ann Clinton, who has worked there for 25 years, and others roasted 16 turkey breasts, baked 25 apple, pumpkin and sweet potato pies, made mashed potatoes, turnips, peas and carrots, corn bread stuffing and gravy.
The seniors line-danced and boogied to songs chosen by D.J. Tommy Pariss as he spun the discs.
Next week the senior center plans to send out turkey dinners to 110 homebound seniors.
