Santa and the Lions Parade come to town Sunday

JENNETT MERIDEN RUSSELL | Santa Claus makes his way down Main Street during the 2010 Riverhead Lions Club annual Christmas parade

Santa and the Riverhead Lions Club annual Christmas Parade will once again trundle down Main Street in Riverhead Sunday.

The parade steps off at the intersection of West Main Street and Osborn Avenue at 1 p.m. and make its way east down Main Street and ends in the Peconic River parking lot. It will feature local fire departments, ambulance companies, dignitaries, classic cars and other clubs.

The parade will be followed by a kids meet and greet with Santa on the Riverhead Town show mobile in the parking lot next to the Peconic River.

Riverhead Lions president and Riverhead Town attorney Bob Kozakiewicz would not say who will be dressed as the big man this year, though he promised it will not be town councilman John Dunleavy.
