Riverhead Police are searching for someone who stole a pricey watch from a Tanger Outlets store in October.

Police said the unknown man asked to see a watch in the Movado store about 4:15 p.m. on Oct. 9 in Riverhead.

He took a photograph of the watch, priced at $2,995, and left the store. He then returned about 10 minutes later and asked to see the watch again.

That’s when he ran from the store and into a dark-colored SUV waiting outside.

He is described as white and about 6-feet tall with a medium build. He was wearing a two-tone baseball cap, blue jeans and a multi-colored t-shirt at the time of the theft.

Police are offering a $5,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest. Call the Suffolk County Crime Stoppers hotline at (800) 220-TIPS.

All calls will be kept confidential.
