Robert Baker

Robert Baker, known as Bob, died suddenly Dec. 9 at his home in Aquebogue. He was 57.

He was born March 31, 1954, in Riverhead, where he later owned a machine shop and specialized in race motors. He was an avid NASCAR fan, according to family members, and drove his own race car, No. 37, in the late model division at Riverhead Raceway and other tracks.

Mr. Baker is survived by his daughter, Brook, of Hicksville; his companion, Harriet; and his parents and brother, all of Tampa, Fla.

Visiting hours took place Dec. 11 at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead, where Father Larry Duncklee also conducted a service. Cremation was private.
