Ellie Jay Gorbea died Dec. 8, 2011.

She is survived by her parents, Jason Gorbea and Madeleine Elizabeth Van Vliet; her grandparents, Evelyn Perales and Leonard and Madeleine Van Vliet; and her great-grandmother, Maria Perales. Beloved niece and cousin.

Interment was at St. John’s Cemetery in Riverhead. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dougherty Scholarship Fund, 139 Old Neck Road, Center Moriches, NY 11934 or Riverhead Free Library, 330 Court St., Riverhead, NY 11901.
