Riverhead man charged with felony DWI in Southampton

A Riverhead man with a prior driving while intoxicated conviction was arrested and charged with felony DWI after Southampton Town police caught him driving erratically Monday afternoon on the South Fork, authorities said.

Daniel Goodale, 34, was arrested about 4:30 p.m. on County Road 39 in Southampton, after police spotted him driving erratically and stopped his car. An investigation revealed Mr. Goodale was intoxicated, police said.

Mr. Goodale was charged with a felony because he was convicted of DWI in Southampton in 2008, police said.

He was processed and held for arraignment at Southampton Justice Court.
