Virginia V. Lehmkuhl

Beloved wife, mother and grandmother Virginia Van Dusen Lehmkuhl of Flemington, N.J., age 81, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township. Born in Olean, N.Y., daughter of the late Earl and Althea (Fitch) Van Dusen, she had resided in Riverhead, N.Y., before settling in Flemington in 1976.

Virginia faithfully served her country with the United States Air Force as an airman 2nd class from 1952 to 1955, during the Korean War. Virginia was co-owner of Country Cottage, formerly in Flemington, and prior to that was a self-employed beautician in Riverhead, N.Y. She enjoyed arts and crafts and would paint and draw at the Somerset Arts Council in Bedminster. When Virginia was not drawing, one could find her reading a book or enjoying time spent with her grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Virginia was predeceased by her brother, Norman Van Dusen.

Virginia is survived by her beloved husband, George A. Lehmkuhl, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage; and loving daughters, Kim and her husband, Christopher Hutson, of Whitehouse Station, and Lori Lehmkuhl of Troy, N.Y. She will be deeply missed by her cherished grandchildren, Ryan and Lindsey Hutson and Austin, Collin and Kendall Wilson.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home in Three Bridges, N.J. Funeral services are private.
