Two men who had been smoking marijuana laced with embalming fluid got in a scuffle with police at the Budget Host Inn in Riverside Saturday, Southampton Town Police said.

Cops were responding to a call that Julian Wright, 38, of Riverhead and Tracy Mitchell, 37, of Flanders were having a dispute outside the motel shortly before 11 a.m. Saturday, when they say the two men attacked the responding officers.

During the fight, Mr. Wright bit one of the officers in the hand, police said. The officer was treated at Peconic Bay Medical Center for a laceration and swelling in one of his hands.

An investigation at the scene revealed the two men had been smoking the laced pot.

Both men were held overnight in police custody and arraigned this morning in Southampton Town Court.
