Cops: Laurel teen arrested for North Fork graffiti spree

A teenager from Laurel was arrested Tuesday in connection with a string of graffiti incidents along the North Fork, Southold Town Police said.

Ryan Valek, 18, has been charged with three counts of making graffiti and a count of criminal trespass, all misdemeanors.

The locations include the bath house at the Cutchogue/New Suffolk Park District Beach located on the Nassau Point Causeway, trailers located near the intersection of Route 48 and Cox Lane in Cutchogue, and a barn at Corey Creek Vineyard on Route 25 in Southold, police said. Each of the graffiti incidents occurred in late 2011 and early 2012.

Mr. Valek was released on bail and will be arraigned in Southold Justice Court next month, police said.
