11-page letter to Town Board blasts Village at Jamesport

BARBARAELLEN KOCH PHOTO | The Village at Jamesport project is proposed for this land just west of the hamlet's business district.

South Jamesport resident Larry Simms, an outspoken critic of the proposed Village at Jamesport project, sent an 11-page letter to members of the Riverhead Town Board Monday outlining why he believes the plan should be rejected.

A vote on special use permits, which could allow for the plan to move forward as-is, is scheduled for Tuesday’s 2 p.m. Town Board meeting. Opponents of the plan have been posting signs around town encouraging residents to “Occupy Town Hall” during Tuesday’s meeting.

You can read Mr. Simms’ letter in its entirety below, and respond in comments.
