Donald C. Fox Jr. of Riverhead died April 23 at Stony Brook University Medical Center of injuries sustained when his truck struck a tree in Laurel on April 1 and caught fire. He was 52.
Mr. Fox was born July 29, 1959, in Riverhead to Lorraine (Jones) and Donald Fox Sr. He had worked at Danny’s Cesspool in Riverhead for the past seven years and was also a self-employed recycler.
He was a caring man and a “teddy bear,” according to friends, who called him “Don Don.”
Predeceased by his father in 2003 and his brother, George, in 1998, Mr. Fox is survived by his mother and his sister, Sylvia Oliver, both of North Carolina.
Memorial visiting hours will be held Tuesday, May 1, from 1 to 6 p.m. at Riverhead Elks Lodge. Arrangements were handled by Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead.
