Katherine M. Sullivan

Former Riverhead resident Katherine M. Sullivan of Rensselaer Falls, N.Y., died April 17 at St. Joseph’s Nursing Home in Ogdensburg after a long battle with cancer. She was 62.

She was born in Greenport Nov. 4, 1949, to Wilfred and Elizabeth (Roche) Sullivan. She graduated from schools on Long Island and worked for Ticor Title Company in Riverhead. She moved north in 1985 and worked for Terry O’Donnell, Esq., and Brownell Abstract Company of Watertown, N.Y., until becoming ill in 2010.

Ms. Sullivan was a member of St. Raphael’s Altar and Rosary Society of Heuvelton, and was its president at the time of her death. Family members said she enjoyed shopping, bowling, her dog and all animals, and spending time with family and friends.

Predeceased by her brothers, Raymond, James and Wilfred, and her sister, Eileen Wouters, she is survived by several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held April 20 at O’Leary Funeral Home in Canton, N.Y., the Rev. Jay Seymour officiating. Interment was at Purmort Cemetery in DePeyster.

Memorial donations may be made to an SPCA chapter of the donor’s choice, to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley or to St. Joseph’s Nursing Home.
