The 3rd annual Long Island Fleece & Fiber Fair — the only event of its kind on Long Island — was held Saturday at the Hallockville Museum Farm and featured the many facets of harvesting, processing and working with animal fiber from sheep, llamas, alpacas, and rabbits.

Demonstrations and workshops took place throughout the day, and included shearing, wool dying, spinning, sheep herding and more.

There were also many hands-on activities and craft opportunities for kids. There was also a fiber market where local artisan vendors sold yarn and fiber-related supplies and finished products.

The Fleece and Fiber Fair is co-sponsored by Hallockville Museum Farm and Long Island Livestock Company.
