Robert F. Howard

Robert F. Howard of Riverhead died May 30 at the age of 79.

He was born Oct. 18, 1932, in Greenport to Vivian Robinson and Byron Howard.

Mr. Howard was self-employed and worked in excavation and land clearing in Riverhead. Family members said he had a passion for his occupation and loved to go deer hunting. He was a member of the Riverhead Sportsman Club.

He is survived by his longtime partner, Sally Osman of Riverhead; his sons, Scott, Robert Jr., Heath and Wade, all of New York, Clayton Conklin of West Virginia and David Osman of Riverhead; his daughters, Dale Korkmaz of Florida, Debbie Miller of Cutchogue and Amy Yetter of Georgia; his brother, Richard, of Vermont; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will take place Sunday, June 3, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead. A service will be held Monday, June 4, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, the Rev. Charles Byer of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Aquebogue officiating. Interment will be at Riverhead Cemetery.
