Cops: Man on drugs flips truck on Flanders Road

A Bridgehampton man who police said was driving under the influence of drugs flipped his truck on Flanders Road near the Riverside traffic circle early Saturday morning, according to a report.

Responding to multiple calls of an overturned vehicle near the circle, Southampton police reported discovering that Brian Jenkins, 45, flipped his 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe after he crossed the center line, left the roadway and struck the curb while westbound just before 2 a.m.

He was taken into custody on a misdemeanor charge of driving while impaired by drugs. Police said Mr. Jenkins was also wanted on a warrant relating to a previous charge of criminal possession of stolen property.
