Riverhead man struck by car, airlifted to hospital
A 60-year-old Riverhead man was airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center after being struck by a 2002 Nissan Maxima Tuesday night, according to Riverhead Police.
The man, whose identity was not released, suffered non-life threatening injuries, police said. The driver of the vehicle, 43-year-old Michael Kavon of Brooklyn, was not charged, police said.
The car was heading westbound on West Main Street in Riverhead at about 8:50 p.m. The car was impounded for a safety check, police said.
