Woman tells cops she’s someone else — someone wanted by cops

A Mastic Beach woman found out the hard way that when you give police a false ID, it’s not going to help if the name you give them is the name of someone wanted by police.

Lisa Slackford, 29, of Lynbrook Avenue in Mastic Beach was questioned by a Southampton Town police officer Saturday night on Lake Avenue in Riverside because she was seen drinking alcohol in a parked car, which is a town code violation.

Officials say Ms. Slackford gave the officer a false ID, which had her sister’s name and date of birth on it.

However, there were four outstanding warrants out for her sister’s arrest, police said, so  the officer ended up arresting Ms. Slackford.

Once she was taken to police headquarters, she gave officers her correct name, but she was still charged with second-degree criminal impersonation, false personation and the open container violation.
