Peter B. Stewart Jr.

Peter Bisland Stewart Jr. of Jamesport, formerly of East Moriches, died Aug. 19 at Stony Brook University Medical Center. He was 77.

He worked for A&P for 43 years, following in his father’s footsteps. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and the Mets, according to family members, and was a man of honor, integrity and principle. He was a wonderful father, husband, grandfather and friend, they said, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife of 52 years; four children; his sister; and nine grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead.
