A 17-year-old Flanders man was arrested for sexually abusing a 5-year-old girl Saturday, according to Southampton Town police.
Anthony Lloyd Pendleton was arrested about 10:40 p.m. Sunday for an incident that occurred the previous day at a home in Flanders, according to police, who did not disclose an address to protect the victim’s identity.
Police said they will not release any further information on the case due to the sensitive nature of the crime.
Mr. Pendleton was charged with first-degree sex abuse, a Class D felony, along with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual act, which is a B felony, and endangering the welfare of a child.
A Class B felony can carry a sentence of up to 25 years in jail.
