Police: Man is punched, bit during Riverside robbery
James Licausi, 43, of Pine Street in Riverside was charged with third-degree robbery for an alleged Sunday evening attack on Vail Avenue, police said.
The victim told cops that someone — later identified as Mr. Licausi — asked him for the time about 5:20 p.m. on Sept. 2, and when the victim looked down at his phone, Mr. Licausi punched him the face and reached into the victim’s back pants pocket to get his wallet, according to a report.
The victim said he grabbed Mr. Licausi, who then bit the victim on the right arm, police said. Mr. Licausi then fled on a bicycle toward Riverleigh Avenue, with the wallet, which contained $130 and a Guatemalan ID card, police said.
He was later located and arrested on a third-degree robbery charge, a felony, police said.
