Mother, son sent to hospital following Calverton crash

A Sound Beach woman drove her car off the roadway and into a telephone pole and several trees along Route 25 in Calverton Saturday night, Riverhead Town police said.

Concetta Glavin, 49, was headed eastbound in her 2003 jeep when the crash occurred about 9:30 p.m., police said. She was airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center, where she is being treated for what police said are non-life threatening injuries.

Her son, Brian Glavin, 18, was a passenger in the car at the time of the crash, and he was treated for minor injuries at Peconic Bay Medical Center, police said.
