George H. Raynor Jr.

George H. Raynor Jr., 45, of Riverhead passed away suddenly Sept. 8, 2012, at home.

He is survived his mother, Sharon Raynor; his sister Ruth and her husband, Eric Baumgardt; his sister Barbara and her husband, Scott Good; his sister Laurie and her husband, Joe Gilroy; and his sister Tara Raynor. He is also survived by his beloved nephews Neill, Christopher, Bryan, Kyle, Tim and Alex, and his nieces Kelsey, Anna and Katie.

George was a dedicated employee at the Hampton Bays School District for 23 years. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed Riverhead Raceway. George’s motto was, “Have gas, will travel!” He enjoyed exploring and experiencing new things; he lived his life to the fullest.

George was a devoted son, a beloved brother and uncle and will be sorely missed.

George was his father’s son, with an excellent work ethic and a deep devotion to his family and friends. Now he is at peace and can rest with his beloved father.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead. Visiting hours will take place Monday, Sept. 17, from noon to 2 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A service will take place at 6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 17, at the funeral home. Private cremation will follow Tuesday, Sept. 18.
