The McGann-Mercy boys soccer team fell 7-1 Tuesday afternoon at home against Southampton in League VII. It was the 12th straight loss for the Monarchs, who are still searching for their first win.

With a roster made up of mostly freshmen and sophomores, it’s been an uphill battle this season for the young Monarchs.

Damian Duda provided the team’s lone goal against the Mariners. The goal came on the heels of a two-goal performance against Wyandanch in the Monarchs’ previous game. Mercy lost that game 3-2 in what was the closest game of the season.

The Monarchs have two games left in the season, beginning Saturday at Mattituck. Their final home game is Oct. 23 against Center Moriches.
