Police: Flanders teen facing assault, weapons charges

An 18-year-old from Flanders was charged with assault after he struck another man on the head with a metal object Friday night, Southampton Town Police said.

Trevor Jackson, 18, was arrested about 9:35 p.m., just minutes after the incident occurred at a house on Brookhaven Avenue in Flanders.

The victim was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center for treatment of an undisclosed injury.

Mr. Jackson was held overnight for a Saturday morning arraignment on charges of second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Police did not say what the metal object was.
