Police: 70-year-old Riverside man was part of drug ring
A 70-year-old Riverside man who police say was part of a drug ring has been arrested by officers with the DA’s East End Drug Task Force.
John Woods of Old Quogue Road in Riverside was charged with second-degree conspiracy, a class B felony, after task force members and officers with the Southampton Town Emergency Service Unit executed a search warrant at his home about 6 a.m. Friday, officials said.
Police say Mr. Woods was arrested following a long-term narcotics investigation and that he “conspired to sell drugs throughout the East End.”
The task force comprises various undercover officers from a number of departments on the East End and in Suffolk County.
