Ronan Patrick Guyer

Ronan Patrick Guyer of Southold died suddenly November 14, 2012, in Buffalo, N.Y. He was 14 years old.

He was born in Port Jefferson on April 24, 1998, to Stephen and Lori Guyer. He was a freshman at Southold High School, where he was a member of the cross country team and the NJROTC. He was also a member of the Mattituck and Southold sailing teams, Southold Yacht Club and Southold Troop 6 Boy Scouts.

Surviving are his parents, Stephen and Lori Guyer, a brother, Colin Guyer, and a sister, Shannon Guyer, all of Southold; his paternal grandparents, Florence and Stephen Guyer of Riverhead; his maternal grandparents, Barbara and John Schmidt of Wading River; and his aunts and uncles, John and Diana Schmidt of Buffalo, Ed and Lisa Plaia of East Moriches, Andy Franz of California and Pamela Guyer and Bonnie Eldon, both of Brooklyn.

The family will receive friends Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 19 and 20, from 4 to 8 p.m. at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Ronald McDonald House or Peconic Gardiners Junior Sailing Association would be appreciated.
