Preview: Riverhead school board to hear audit report
An external auditor will present a report to the Riverhead school board during its public meeting Tuesday evening, according to the meeting’s agenda.
Jill Sanders from Cullen & Danowski, LLP will detail the report’s findings of the district’s finances for the previous fiscal year, ending June 2012, to the board. The board will then vote to accept the results of the findings and submit them to the New York State Education Department.
The board will also honor a retiring clerk typist, Julie Lojko. Ms. Lojko has worked for the district for 29 years, starting as a reading aide in the middle school and eventually was reassigned to Aquebogue Elementary School, according to the agenda.
School officials wrote that Ms. Lojko is a “cornerstone of the Aquebogue school, someone everyone can count on for advice, a smile and a laugh.” She will retire on Dec. 21, officials said.
