Edna L. Phelps

Edna L. Phelps of Riverhead died Jan. 27 at age 102. 

She was born March 29, 1910, to Herbert and Anna Booth in Peconic, where she grew up. She attended Southold High School. 

She worked in food services for the Riverhead school district. Family members said she enjoyed reading, knitting and crocheting.

Predeceased by her husband, Harold, in 1963, Ms. Phelps is survived by her daughter, Sandra Mulvaney of Calverton; her son, Robert Carlough of Blue Point; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, Jan. 29, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A service will take place at the funeral home Wednesday, Jan. 30, at 10 a.m., Pastor Stan Knavel of Baiting Hollow Congregational Church officiating. Interment will follow at Long Island National Cemetery in Pinelawn.
