Cops: Four charged with DWI this weekend

Riverhead police arrested four people for driving while intoxicated over the weekend, including one man who had a prior DWI conviction.

Jorge Castillo, 30, of Riverhead was pulled over around 1 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Northville Turnpike and Ostrander Avenue after failing to maintain his lane, police said.

Mr. Castillo was arrested and charged with aggravated DWI, along with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and other traffic violations, officials said.

Mr. Castillo had a prior DWI conviction, the report said. He also had two outstanding warrants with Nassau County, officials said. His car was impounded and he was held for arraignment, police said.

Further details on his prior DWI were not available.

A 44-year-old Riverhead woman was arrested after police received word of a possible drunk driver on Sound Avenue Friday evening, police said.

Pamela Cole was pulled over around 9:50 p.m. after failing to maintain her lane and driving on the shoulder, police said.  She was arrested and charged with DWI, police said. Officers also found pills in Ms. Cole’s pocketbook that were not in a prescription bottle, the report said.

Ms. Cole was processed and held for arraignment, police said.

After failing to maintain his lane, Jose Chavez-Guardado, 26, of Greenport was arrested for DWI on East Main Street about 3 a.m. Saturday, police said.

Mr. Chavez-Guardado was also charged with other traffic violations, a report said. He was processed and held for arraignment, officials said.

Joseph Doroski, 62, of Wading River was arrested for DWI after being pulled over on Griffing Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, police said.

Mr. Doroski was pulled over after making an illegal lane change, police said. Mr. Doroski was processed and held for arraignment, police said.
