Dorothy A. Smith

Riverhead resident Dorothy A. Smith died Feb. 27 at the age of 77.

Born May 31, 1935, to Alex and Josephine (Zaweski) Zanieski, she married Gilbert A. Smith on Oct. 2, 1955, and was a homemaker.

Ms. Smith is survived by her husband; her son, Gilbert Jr. (Skip); her brothers, Alex Zanieski Jr. of Mattituck and Anthony Zanieski of Calverton; her sister, Frances Stelzer of Mattituck; and two grandchildren.

Visiting hours were held March 1 at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. Funeral services were March 2 at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Riverhead, followed by interment at the church cemetery.
