Incarcerated Riverhead man charged in crimes
A Riverhead man already in jail on several unrelated charges, including resisting arrest and criminal possession of stolen property, was arrested again last Tuesday in connection with a pair of crimes committed in recent months in the Flanders and Riverside areas, Southampton Town police said.
Robert Noon III, 38, was charged last week with burglarizing a home on County Road 104 in Flanders on Dec. 27, at which time he allegedly pressed a hard object to the back of a man’s head and forced him down on a bed before robbing him of a wallet containing cash and a debit card, police said.
And on Feb. 3, Mr. Noon allegedly stole groceries from a Shell gas station in Riverside, according to police. He allegedly fled the scene in what police later determined to be a stolen car.
Mr. Noon was arraigned at Southampton Justice Court on the new charges and remanded back to the county jail last Tuesday, police said. He was charged with burglary, robbery, criminal possession of a stolen vehicle and petit larceny, police said.
Mr. Noon was being held at the Suffolk County jail on a slew of other charges relating to a separate Feb. 17 incident, according to online court records.
During the same time frame as the crimes Mr. Noon is being accused of committing, several other homes in the Flanders and Riverside area were burglarized, and several other vehicles were stolen, police said.
Anyone with information on Dec. 27 or Feb. 3 incidents is asked to call Southampton Town Police at 631-702-2230.
