Robert O. Needham

Robert O. Needham, 70, died March 13, 2013, at his residence in Micco, Fla.

He was born in Jacksonville, Ala., and moved to the Micco area from Aquebogue, Long Island, N.Y. in 2006.

Mr. Needham was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1961 to 1969, including tours in Vietnam. He was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross.

He attended Sebastian United Methodist Church and was a member of the Roanoke IOOF 462 and Veritas Rebekah Lodge 167 of Riverhead, N.Y.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Needham of Micco; his son, Aaron Needham (Nancy) of Fayetteville, N.C.; his daughter, Denise Needham of Riverhead, N.Y.; grandson Joshua Needham and granddaughter Rebecca Needham, both of Fayetteville; a brother, Scott Needham of New York; and sisters Patricia Cichetti of New York, Brenda Snider of Alabama and Karen Batignani and Deborah Kotrady, both of Florida.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Sebastian United Methodist Church, Sebastian, Fla., the Rev. Richard Jones officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Sebastian Area Veterans’ Honor Guard.
