Edward H. Pettit

Edward H. Pettit of Riverhead died March 15 at the Riverhead Care Center. He was 87 years old.

Born Dec. 29, 1925, to Edward and Sarah (Hercomb) Pettit, he had been an accountant at Quintry in Sayville.

Predeceased by his wife, Magdalen, in 2003, Mr. Pettit is survived by his sons, James, of Manorville, Stephen, of Mahopac, N.Y., and Edward, of Bellingham, Wash.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors Wednesday, March 20, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead. A service will follow at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Riverhead. Interment will take place at the church cemetery, the Rev. Steven Norton officiating.
