Blog Recap: Board learns about ‘Eyes on Main Street’ arts project

BARBARAELLEN KOCH PHOTO | Flanders artist Andrea Cote will wear different people’s eyes, painted onto blindfolds, as part of her multimedia project on downtown Riverhead.

The Riverhead Town Board met with Flanders artist Andrea Cote at the board’s public work session Thursday.

Ms. Cote is a a multimedia artist who is doing an interactive art piece in which she interviews and photographs people who have close ties to downtown Riverhead and its history.

The finished product, which will be called “Eyes on Main Street” and will be sponsored by East End Arts, will be displayed later this year in a Main Street storefront, starting during the annual Community Mosaic at the end of May.

It will run throughout the summer.

Town Board members also discussed resolutions up for vote at the April 2 official Town Board meeting.
