Softball: Blue Waves fall to Deer Park after big inning

FALCONS 8, BLUE WAVES 3

Deer Park scored six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to break open a close League IV softball game and went on to record an 8-3 victory over visiting Riverhead on Saturday morning.

Shortstop Sabrina Riley, who led off with a double and scored, sparked the Falcons with two hits while scoring three runs.

Deer Park (8-3, 8-3) solved Riverhead ace Amanda Graziano for six runs on five hits during the decisive fourth inning.

Sophomore first baseman Danni Napoli drove in two runs and scored the third for the Blue Waves (9-4, 8-4).

Riverhead returns to action at West Islip on Tuesday.
