Bertha J. Zimnoski

Bertha J. Zimnoski of Laurel died May 3 at her home. She was 91 years old.

She was born Nov. 24, 1921, to John and Amelia (Chituk) Simchick.

Bert had been a homemaker, farmer and landscaper. She was a fan of the N.Y. Yankees and enjoyed watching soap operas and listening to WLNG and polka music. A devout Roman Catholic and a communicant of Sacred Heart Parish, she will be remembered as a prayerful woman who cared very much for her family and others.

Predeceased by her husband, Joseph F. Zimnoski Jr., in 1985, she is survived by her grandchildren, Rhonda T. Tyler, Jamie Zimnoski and Wendy Zimnoski Terrano; and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Fliss Zimnoski. She was also predeceased by her children, Joseph F. Zimnoski III, John H. Zimnoski and Joan Zimnoski Tyler; and her siblings, Wesley and Stanley Simchick, Mary Simchick Doroski, Minnie Simchick Borawa, Florence Simchick Sieminski and Stephanie Simchick Sieminski.

The family will receive friends May 7 at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated May 8 at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church, Monsignor Joseph W. Staudt officiating. Interment will be at Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery.
