Cops: Riverside man confronted by man with handgun

A Riverside man reported to police last week that he was confronted by a man who threatened him with a handgun in Riverside, according to a Southampton Town police report.

The suspect then walked away after seeing police cars in the area, the report reads. The victim said he fears for his safety and believes the incident, which happened last Tuesday, will escalate in the future.

The suspect left the area in a 2002 white Cadillac, with a woman passenger, police said. The report did not specify where in Riverside the confrontation took place.
