Frank J. Kozak

Lifelong Riverhead resident Frank J. Kozak died at home May 2 after a long illness. He was 95.

He was born Feb. 16, 1918, to Stanley and Amelia (Gref) Kozakiewicz and attended Riverhead schools through eighth grade, when he began working for his family’s Kozak Farms.

He was a member of the Holy Name Society. Family members said he enjoyed fishing, golf and bowling.

Mr. Kozak is survived by his wife, Hedwig (née Doroski); his four sons, Robert and Thomas, both of Riverhead, Frank, of Fairfield, Conn., and Mark, of Wading River; two sisters, Helen Kozakiewicz of Greenport and Cecile Kozakiewicz of Riverhead; and eight grandchildren.

The family received visitors May 4 and 5 at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A service was held May 6 at St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead. Burial followed at St. John’s Cemetery in Riverhead.
