Cops offer $5K reward for info on lawnmower thief
Suffolk County police and the Riverhead Police Department are offering a $5,000 reward for information about who stole a ride-on lawnmower from a Riverhead property last month.
Police said the orange Bad Boy lawnmower was taken from the property on Sound Avenue between 10:30 p.m. on May 26 and 7:20 a.m. the next day, according to a police statement. Authorities said the black 2002 trailer the lawnmower was on — which had a New York state license plate registration number of AU95649, was also taken.
Detectives have asked anyone with information on who stole the lawnmower to call Suffolk County Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential and information leading to an arrest will be rewarded, police said.
