Eleanor A. Chomicki

Former Calverton resident Eleanor A. Chomicki died at her East Quogue home June 21. She was 89 years old.

She was born Sept. 15, 1923, to Ollie and Katherine (Golaski) Demchuk. Most recently she worked as an account clerk for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office in Riverhead. Family members say she loved gardening, fishing, clamming and cooking.

Predeceased by her husband, Joseph, in 2003, Ms. Chomicki is survived by her sons, Joseph, of Texas, and Christopher, of East Quogue; her daughter, Elaine, of Speonk; and three grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her brother, Ollie, in January, and her sister, Marion, in 1983.

The family received visitors June 23 at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service was held June 24 at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Church, followed by interment at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Cemetery, both in Riverhead.
