Baiting Hollow resident Christopher Dorr was sworn-in Tuesday night to serve his first three-year term on the Riverhead school board.

Mr. Dorr and Amelia Lantz were successful in the May 21 election and both were sworn-in during Tuesday’s reorganizational meeting.

The school board also voted 6-0 to re-elect Ann Cotten-DeGrasse as its president and Gregory Meyer as its vice president.

Board member Kimberly Ligon was absent from the meeting.

In addition to congratulating Mr. Dorr, Ms. Lantz, Ms. Cotten-DeGrasse and Mr. Meyer, the school board approved assistant superintendent of finance and operations Sam Schneider’s tenure, praised his work and thanking his family for attending the meeting.

The school board also welcomed high school social studies teacher Lisa Goulding, who is the district’s newest Riverhead Central Faculty Association union president.

Barbara Barosa, who had worked as a physical education teacher in the district for 26 years and had been the union president for nearly two decades, retired last month.
