Helen E. Zaweski

Longtime Jamesport resident Helen E. Zaweski died Aug. 12 at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. She was 83 years old.

She was born Aug. 5, 1930, in Calverton to Helen (Krupski) and Edward E. Sujecki. She married Walter Zaweski Sept. 14, 1952, and was a homemaker.

Ms. Zaweski is survived by her husband; her son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Donna (Lessard) Zaweski; her grandchildren, Ethan and Emily Zaweski; and her siblings, Edward Sujecki of Calverton and Constance Stelzer of Riverhead. She was predeceased by her sister Margaret Rolle in 2007.

The family will receive visitors Tuesday, Aug. 13, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead followed by interment at the church cemetery.
