Anne Marie Carpenter

Anne Marie Carpenter of Founders Village in Southold died Aug. 16, 2013. She was 78 years old.

She was born June 13, 1935, in Cohoes, N.Y., to Armand and Anne (Bounne) Delisle.

Formerly of Centereach and Leisure Village in Ridge, she moved to Southold three years ago.

She will be long remembered for her volunteerism with the American Cancer Society, the Book Cottage in Southold and Meals on Wheels. She had also been a lector, Eucharistic minister and catechist at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary R.C. Church in Centereach and, most recently, served as a lector at St. Patrick R.C. Church in Southold.

Playing bingo was a favorite pastime but her passion was spending time with her kids.

Surviving are her husband, Thomas W. Carpenter; five children, Kathleen Peckholdt of Hudson, Fla,, Jeannie Calderale of Peconic, Michelle Hart of Southold, Richard, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and David, of Chesapeake, Va.; her brothers Father Richard Delisle of Attleboro, Mass., and Father Thomas Delisle of Hopkinton, N.H.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Armand Delisle.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Aug. 19 at St. Patrick R.C. Church by Frs. Peter Garry, Richard Delisle, Thomas Delisle and Donald Diederich. Interment will be at Calverton National Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Homes.
