Thief grabbed cash while Riverside store worker used bathroom
Someone grabbed more than $100 in cash from the register of a Riverside business while an employee was in the bathroom last week, according to a Southampton Town police report.
The victim told police he was leaving the Peconic Avenue store’s bathroom when he saw a person in a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans run out of the store about 2:50 p.m. Friday.
The worker then found the person had taken about $120 in $20, $10, and $1 dollar bills from the unattended register.
Police searched the area but did not locate the person described by the victim.
Detectives are investigating.
